Merger annunciation parish to Scared Heart

Merger St. Stephen parish to St. Francis Xavier by July 2027

We have been asked to merge our two smaller parishes into the two larger ones by July 2027. All four sites will remain in use for Masses and programming. This timeline provides us with a year to carefully address the following five areas:

1. Financial and Accounting Structures: We will establish procedures to transition the finances and property of Annunciation under the Sacred Heart corporation, and St. Stephen under the St. Francis Xavier corporation. We are committed to ensuring that no site's debts or liabilities are paid for by another site's assets.

2. Staffing and Operations: We will review ACC staffing to identify opportunities for streamlining functions, aligning job descriptions, and ensuring staff have the necessary resources and support for their ministry.

3. Faith Formation: We will conduct an objective review of youth, young adult, and adult ministries across the ACC. An enhanced Faith Formation Committee from the ACC Council will provide recommendations, which may include a continued mixture of coordinated and individual programming.

4. Social Outreach and Pastoral Ministries: Similarly, an ad hoc committee from the ACC Council will review our social outreach and pastoral ministries to make recommendations on how to best balance combined and individual programming.

5. ACC Council Governance: We will revise the Constitution and bylaws of the ACC Council to transition it from an information clearinghouse to a more deliberative visionary and advisory leadership body. While two Finance Councils will remain to oversee their respective areas, the ACC Council will serve as the primary leadership entity.
